  • Rain Date: March 22nd, 2026

You can participate in the sale in one of three ways:

  1. Donate items for the sale
  2. Participate in the sale at your home
  3. Bring a table/tables and your items to set up along the sidewalk on MacFarland Dr. between Carleton Dr. and Lucerne Dr.

A digital map of all participating homes will be available for shoppers here. Below is an example.

How to Participate

  • Email
  • Phone
  • Optional: categories of items you’ll be selling (kids items, tools, furniture, etc.)

Please note: Make sure items are clean and ready for sale. Last year some items came with bugs….

Step 2 — Get added to the neighborhood map

All registered homes will:

  • Be listed on the official yard sale map

  • Be included in event promotion

  • Receive a sign with a QR code linking to the printable map (seen below) along with an interactive Google Map. See the map here.

Step 3 — Help Promote the Sale

We’ll be marketing the event as a whole, and you can help increase turnout by sharing standout items and spreading the word.

  • Send photos of major items (furniture, tools, baby gear, outdoor equipment, electronics, collectibles) to carletonterraceparkassoc@gmail.com with a short description, optional price, and your address. We may feature them in event promotions.

  • Optional: Post a few items on Facebook Marketplace, local yard sale groups, or Nextdoor.

  • Include: “Part of the Carleton Terrace Neighborhood Street Sale on March 7th, 9am – 2pm. Multiple homes participating.”

More visibility brings more shoppers into the neighborhood, which benefits every participating home and supports our fundraiser.

Step 4 — Prepare for the sale

Participants will:

  • Set up in their own yard/driveway OR along the sidewalk of MacFarland Dr. between Carleton Dr. and Lucerne Dr.

  • Price and sell their own items

  • Optional: Donate a portion of their proceeds to the association to benefit the dock and shoreline restoration project.

Suggested donation: 50% of proceeds

What to Expect

Day-of Expectations for Participating Homes

  • Set up before start time

  • Bring your own tables, change, and supplies

  • Accept cash or digital payments (Venmo/Zelle/etc.) if preferred

  • Be respectful of neighbors and shared spaces

  • Remove all unsold items and signage after the event

What Shoppers Will See

To make this feel organized and easy to navigate:

  • Signs will be posted at neighborhood entrances and main roads

  • A QR code will link to a live map of participating homes

  • Each participating house will have a yard sign identifying it as part of the community sale

This helps bring in more traffic and makes it easier for buyers to visit multiple homes.

Tips to Promote the Carleton Terrace Neighborhood Street Sale

To attract more buyers into the neighborhood, we’ll be promoting the event as a whole, featuring some of the best items available. Here’s how you can help in a simple, effective way.

Step 1 — Send Us Photos of Major Items

If you’re selling larger or high-interest items, please share them with the Association so we can include them in event marketing.

Examples:

  • Furniture
  • Tools
  • Baby gear
  • Outdoor equipment
  • Electronics
  • Antiques or collectibles

Email to: carletonterraceparkassoc@gmail.com
Subject line: Street Sale Featured Item

Include:

  • 1–3 photos
  • Short description
  • Price (optional)
  • Your address

We may use these in Facebook posts, yard sale listings, and promotional graphics to draw more shoppers into the neighborhood.

Step 2 — Promote Your Sale Locally (Optional but Helpful)

If you’re comfortable doing so, posting a few items yourself can increase turnout.

Best places to post:

  • Facebook Marketplace
  • Local Facebook yard sale groups
  • Nextdoor
  • Craigslist

When posting, include this line:

“Part of the Carleton Terrace Neighborhood Street Sale on March 7th, 9am–2pm. Multiple homes participating.”

This helps buyers know there will be many stops in one trip.

Photo Tips for Better Results

  • Use natural lighting
  • Photograph items from multiple angles
  • Clean items before taking pictures
  • Include sizes, measurments or brand names when relevant

Why This Matters

The Association will handle signage, advertising, and the neighborhood map.

By sharing standout items and spreading the word, you help bring more shoppers into Carleton Terrace — which benefits every participating home and supports our community fundraiser.
