How to Become a Member

Dear Carleton Terrace Property Owner,

It’s time for the 2026–2027 Carleton Terrace Park Association Membership Drive.

Carleton Terrace Park is one of the most unique features of our neighborhood. The park provides residents with access to the Indian River Lagoon, a place to gather with neighbors, and a shared community asset that helps make Carleton Terrace a special place to live.

Over the past year, your association has continued building a stronger foundation for the future of the park through improved financial management, increased community involvement, fundraising efforts, and long-term planning for major improvements.

As we begin a new membership cycle, we invite you to become a member and help continue that momentum.

WHAT WE ACCOMPLISHED THIS YEAR

Financial Stewardship The Association reorganized its financial reporting to better align with nonprofit standards and improve transparency for members. We also established an Operating Reserve Fund to help ensure the organization is prepared for unexpected maintenance and future needs.

Current association assets total approximately $23,000, placing the organization in a stronger position than it has been in many years.

Planning for the Future The Association has continued fundraising and planning efforts for the future restoration of the shoreline and dock area. This remains one of the community’s largest long-term goals.

This year, the Board raised over $4,500 in fundraising and was able to allocate an additional $6,000 to the Dock & Shoreline Fund. The dock and shoreline fund now has over $10,000 reserved for the project. Thank you to ALL that helped us get to this point, it was truly a community effort!

Community Improvements Recent projects and initiatives include:

  • Park cleanups and maintenance projects
  • New park furnishings including tables and chairs
  • Planning for a community bulletin board
  • Evaluation of additional park improvements and beautification projects

Community Engagement The Association continues to host and support activities that bring neighbors together, including:

  • Annual neighborhood yard sale
  • Community gatherings and picnics
  • Volunteer cleanup events
  • New and continued fundraising initiatives, including one of our most successful events, Oktoberfest at the Park!

Communication & Transparency The Association continues to improve communication through:

Our goal is to ensure every property owner has access to information about meetings, projects, finances, and opportunities to become involved.

2026–2027 MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

To align the Association’s fiscal year with the calendar year as voted on by members at the 2025 Annual Member Meeting, this membership period will cover an 18-month cycle. THIS IS NOT A DUES INCREASE.

Membership dues are: $150 per property

(If this membership is too much for your household at this time, please reach out to us and we can provide a deferment plan)

This membership period will run through December 31, 2027. After this transition cycle, dues will return to the standard annual membership structure of $100 per year.

Membership is voluntary and open to all Carleton Terrace property owners.

While all owners may enjoy the park, membership dues provide the funding necessary to maintain the property, secure liability insurance, support improvement projects, and preserve the park for future generations.

GET INVOLVED

This year we have expanded our membership form to include volunteer interests and business/individual sponsorship opportunities.

Whether you can contribute time, expertise, equipment, or financial support, there are many ways to help strengthen our community.

Fill out the membership form, pay your dues and send in your nominations no later than June 30th, 2026.

All paid members by June 30th will receive an election packet that will contain the biographies of director candidates for review, a ballot, a “secret ballot” envelope, a return envelope to provide the lot address voting and a limited proxy to ensure a quorum is met. We will also include instructions.

We hope you’ll choose to join as a member this year. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns: carletonterraceparkassoc@gmail.com
